The news is full of talk about the anniversary of the death of Shakespeare which is thought to have been today. He was a great playwright, IF he wrote the plays that he is credited with.
There is a train of thought that he stole some of his plays from another and passed them off as his own. Many also see him as a great Tudor propagandist, making history sound the way they want it to sound. As the saying goes, history is written by the victor !
A little known fact is that it is also the anniversary of the death of another poet, in my mind a far more likeable one, William Wordsworth.
He died in 1850 at the ripe old age of 80 years young.
Far less well known, though his poems are so much nicer to read and let your mind wander with, try it !
